December 23, 2009 · Posted in Brunei, Japanese Food, Travel · Comment

I’ve received several emails enquiring on the ways to get to Excapade, Kuala Belait, Brunei.

So I’m giving some tips to Excapade from ASEAN Bridge, Miri. (Simplified version at my best effort ya)

Duration from Sg. Tujoh Checkpoint : Approx. 30 -45 mins.

Things you need to bring:

1)Passport.
2)Brunei Dollars (There are quite a number of money changers around major shopping complexes, don’t worry about this.)

Things you need to know:

1)Remember to make a reservation before you go, they are usually full packed on weekends.

6:00 pm – 11:30 pm

Sun:

11:00 am – 2:30 pm
6:00 pm – 10:30 pm

2)You can’t drive a rental that you’ve rent from Miri as the rental company usually doesn’t allow cross border driving.
3)You need to have you car’s green car, photo copies will do.
4)Do not bring to/back subsidised commodities such as cooking oil, rice, sugar and etc. (Snacks, choco & other processed food are fine.)
5)They are 1 Malaysian toll booth (Rm10 one way) & 1 Bruneian toll booth ($B 3.00 one way.)
6)You’ll need to fill in a Temporary Admission Form. (Free of charge)

The route.

1) Drive straight from the checkpoint/immigration.
Beware of wild monkeys on the road side.
They can be cause of accidents.
You’ll notice 1 shell petrol kiosk on your right.
Go straight until you pass a bridge.

2)From the bridge.
Slow down as you’ll be approaching the Bruneian toll booth.
You’ll need $B 3.00 at this point.

3)From the toll booth go straight.
Approximately 5 mins, you’ll find a notice board on your left.
Thats the junction to Kuala Belait.
Take the entrance, go straight until you reach a roundabout with a huge teapot.
Go straight from the roundabout.
Take the second left turn to enter the area with shophouses.
After you’ve enter take another left turn (the second one).
Go straight, you’ll find Excapade Sushi on your left.
