Hong Fu Seafood Restaurant, Sibu

April 10th, 2009

hong-fu-seafood-restaurant

Hong Fu Seafood Restaurant located adjacent to Sibu Bus Terminal. They are occupying 3+1 shoplots for their business. Suprise not, even these with numbers of shoplots, they perpetually fully occupied everyday. The tables and chairs are line up along the pavillion of the neighbour shops on weekends when these shops are off for business.

Mi din - Local Fern

Despite, the huge number of patrons & orders of food, a simple dish such as veggies, you will expect less than a few minutes waiting time for it to reach you table.  And that’s something I admire this outlet for. I hate to wait. :)

You could have thought that, their speedy cook might neglect the quality of the food presented to you. That’s not the case here.

Taman Selera Muhibah, Sibu

April 9th, 2009

taman-selera-muhibah

I had some uni. friends that are from Sabah & Penang that travelled from Miri to visit my hometown, Sibu.

I guess the main reason there were here is because they were intimidated by my words of persuasion. LoL. I have been telling that Sibu is a food haven.

Food here are cheaper & better compared to Miri.

Where else can you in Miri get a meal that cost you Rm3.00 inclusive of food & drinks?

Below are some photos of food & drink we had at Taman Muhibah Selera, Sibu. There are around 40 food & beverage stalls operating from 6pm onwards. Most of the stalls here are operated by Chinese. However, there are some Malay stalls too.

At Taman Selera Muhibah, you have wide range of food to choose from hawker food to western food, from nasi lemak & satay to fried kueh teuy to rice con gee. You name it.

Trans Borneo Highway – Landslides

February 6th, 2009

dsc01381

The beginning of the Ox Year wasn’t  very good for Sarawak. Most of its major cities were affected by flood due to heavy downpour of continuous rain. The condition in Sibu was one of the worst amongst the other towns in Sarawak. dsc01382

Nevertheless, the non-stop rain had also affected the Trans Borneo highway plying Sibu to Bintulu. While driving my way back to Miri a few days ago, I noticed 4 major hazardous landslide areas nearby Tatau, Bintulu. dsc01383

Can these save you from the landslides?dsc01386

In some area, the roads were even disconnected from traffic.dsc01388

However, works were done to construct temporary passage for vehicle to pass through. It is not advisable to drive at night as these landslides were difficult to be notice & the road was terribly damaged.

Cafe Cafe Sibu

December 1st, 2008
cafecafe
I went to Café café last week to have lunch. Café café is one of my favourite dining places in Sibu. The atmosphere in this café was so well taken of with soft ambiance, comfy environment & relaxing music perfect for dating couples and the right place to spend time to chit chat with your buddies.
ilt
Iced Lemon Tea which came with the set lunch we ordered.
beefrendang
Beef rendang with rice.
ayambali
Ayam Bali with rice.
The design of this café is very Balinese-like with alot of natural medium such as wooden furniture, stone decors, and Balinese oil paintings. Besides, the food & drinks here is not overpriced and you will get for what you pay for – quality and service. Café café has wide range of authentic Malaysian food to fill your stomach, beverages, deserts and even ice-cream for those who just want to wet up their throat but remember they serves no pork. Personally, I would suggest those who might be interested to try their food or simply drop by for a drink when you are in Sibu
Location : Just at the old shop beside “Tua Pek Kong – Chinese Temple” near the wharf.
