Juicy Raw Oyster

September 12th, 2008

I was reading TheStar e-Newspaper this morning and out of the blue this weird taste bud of mine annoyed me again.. It oftentimes associates with the food that i feasted or drinks that guzzled …but I just couldn’t figure out exactly it was..

Thus, I browsed my archaic for photographs of the overindulged food & drinks..

and I found a deliberately precise match that my taste buds desperately craved. I had this like one year ago while I was in KK for a week’s odyssey. Phek bestow me first hand with KK’s seafood at Salut .

Bewildered and perplexed. What the rat ? The Raw Oyster I had in Salut..

Raw Oyster.. we ate it really raw – alive! ..the Lemon was dripped on it & I could see the helpless oyster contract .. Oh My, I really miss the fresh oyster!

Next episode : I slurp ‘em down. Yummy.

(Day 1) Dinner in Kk

December 3rd, 2007

For the first night in Kota Kinabalu (KK) my friend took me to have exotic seafood.

There’s a place in Karambrunai where they serve lots of sea snails and FRESH prawns.

This one of the sea snails that we ordered. We ordered half kilos of those and it cost Rm22 for this. It was boiled and served without sauce and tasted like ordinary clams.

he place that we had this dinner is actually a prawn farm. On the way to the restaurant, there are 3 ponds that are use to rare prawns. A plate of prawn that we ordered cost us Rm24 for half kilos of prawn. It is a little expensive compared to the prices in town but I reckon this is a worthwhile one as it so so so much fresher. By this I mean its “alive” minutes before the prawns were served on to the plate.
