2nd National Youth Entrepreneur Convention

Actually I intended to publish this post earlier last week but I had to postponed it because I was accompanying my grandma to go through a critical surgery due to some reason.

A week before I went back to Sibu, I was in PWTC, KL to attend the 2nd National Youth Entrepreneur Convention. I was an one day convention held on the 10th January 2009.

NYEC was a meaningful & useful convention for youths that dreamt to be successful entrepreneur one day. You stand the chance to listen to the stories & experiences of some of the most influential youth entrepreneur, the obstacles on their way to where they are now, successful entrepreneurs.

The 2 ambassadors of Dutch Lady Shine. I don’t really see the relation between them & the convention. But most probably due to the arrangement made by Dutch Lady with Youth’ 09 organizers to promote their new products.

” We experienced how the crisis affeted our family financially, and we knew it was time to support ourselves through our education.”
Macrokiosk CEO. Henry Goh. He start off with Rm 5,000 as a capital from his father. Teaming up with his brother they started a venture that runs into a multinational companies with offices in around the world. “I’ve never tought that I could’ve a Porsche at my backyard..” he stated as back then life was not easy & seeing people around him getting them wearing brands wasn’t comfort but when you aim high, these things will come by itself.

“Every company or competitor will always aim to improve and be innovative to outdo you. If you’re not constantly on your toes, you may be left behind. So always try to keep up and stay one step ahead.”
The youngster Dato’ Ricky Wong Shee Khai. I have even known. CEO of Asiamedia Sdn. Bhd.

” As an entrepreneur, you’re never successful enough and you have to keep creating things that will change people’s lives.”
Ganesh Kumar Bangah, 30. Leading MOL AccessPortal Berhad.

“Innovate on your mind, you team mind set, and the workflow. I think that’s the real innovation.”

“You’ve to believe not only in yourself but your mindset. Never be afraid to ope up our mind and go beyond.”

“There are three things that you can’t go wrong that I try to venture into – gambling, education & entertainment.’
Jeffrey Ong, 31. Macera Technology & Marctensia Sdn. Bhd.

They are really bright people with brilliant ideas. Most importantly, they dare to take the road less taken. Believe in yourself, and you can find your way.

Never go thirsty! Despite having to listen to the their boring ambassadors at the beginning of the convention, Dutch Lady sponsored the NYEC with 4 chillers filled with their new product Shine. Not bad considering you got to take any amount you want the whole day.

“I’ve already learnt as an entrepreneur these past years is that an aspect of success comes from confronting your fears.
Aimmann Faiz, 25. Founder of Don’t Panic Malaysia. www.dontpaniconline.com

“A lot of people have great ideas but they don’t work out because they don’t commit time or effort to do it.”
Blogger cum entrepreneur , Joyce Wong, 26. She claimed that she was bald because she did it to help raise fund for the cancer society. She started blogging as every blogger did. Little did she knew that her blog ( that critizise Malaysian fashion) could gain popularity and became some of the most frequented blog in Malaysia around that time…

” I felt like I was in a playground with no set of rules, no limit to what I can do but no one to play with.”
The most anticipated speaker, Joel Neoh, 26, leading The Youth Intelligence & YouthMalaysia.com

”Success is enjoying what I do now no matter how knackered I feel at the end of the day, and realizing just how blessed I am to be one of those people who get to say that..and meant it.”

Malaysian no.1 rapper, Johan a.ka. Joe Flizzow. Kartel records & Kartel Clothings.
They are way to long for me to write up every stories & why they choose their way to their successful path now. Every speakers attended the NYEC had their own cheerish moment (& some experienced painful & tough time) on their way to success. To conclude, the 2nd NYEC featured fantastic speakers & it was really well-organized. I felt that this convention worth more than what I paid for. Considering the free flow of Dutch Lady Shine 0% Yogurt Drink, eat-all-you-can buffet lunch at PWTC & lots of freebies all day long, I can complaint even a little. I will certainly go for another entrepreneur convention.
I’m 23 this year & most of these entrepreneurs climbed up to CEO levels and some even own public listed company or owns offices worldwide at their 20’s. I really admired their success & respect capabilities. To those wished to be an successful entrepreneur like them, dream hard & work your dream! Believe in yourself, & do not give up your ideas if you think that it will work.
Youth’09 @ PWTC, KL.

Yes, I was in PWTC last weekend to experience it myself, the very well-organized Youth ‘09. Youth ‘09 is Malaysia’s Largest Youth Lifestyle Festival c0-organized by Youthsays & YouthMalaysia on the 9th – 11th January 2009. Having great supports from numerous prestigious sponsors & the Ministry of Youth & Development of Malaysia, thumbs up from the more than 10,000 youths from the same festival in previous year, this year Youth ‘09 came back as huge as before, only better.
I have never regretted to be a registered Youthsays.com member. As a member, I was entitled to obtain a free pass, skip the queue & for every registration we’re given heaps of freebies!

These are quite a number of pics I took throughout the festival. There are a lot of good pics that I took from almost every corner of the festival, too many actually to describe them one by one so I will just let the pictures do the talking.
