Miri Cafe
Had been a week since my last post. It was a hectic week with lectures to catch up, tutorials to completed & reports to be submitted. I’ve some time now so gonna share something with you guys. Here’s a post of my new discovery of a makan place in Miri.

I was driving around town with my gf to hunt for a new place to dine & found out one outlet next to Sin Yakin (the coffee shop below Thai Bar).

The interior look kinda of Aussie pub with lots of Australians signboards. It reminds me of the pub where old men drink & watching some old ladies handing around the pool table.

This is the lamb chop served with black pepper sauce + french fries & salad. Rm19.00

I went for the BBQ pork chop.(Sorry no photos for that) Rm18.00. For a few slices of pork that was a big price to pay. Com’on, its reccesion.
The wait staff served us the salad before the main course. I like the idea of having some appetizer before any main course.

The bill came up to a total of Rm41.00 for 2 main course & a glass of iced lemon tea.
I’m not sure anyone else think so.. but I honestly thought the food is a little overpriced. +5% service charge for what?
Pizza Hut Miri – Dismay

All that I was expecting from an international renowned fast food restaurant franchise was something similar from the picturesque menu they provided.
But , the one and only Pizza Hut in Miri town nailed my heart down to earth with their “special” or “unique” spaghetti.

Pizza Hut Miri’s Portuguese Prawn Spaghetti.

Or you can rename it as Miri’s Prawn Spaghetti. Oh ya, I forgot there was this fine print *for illustration purposes only. Bijak kan?
Pizza Hut Miri rated by me, 3/10.
Mr Ho’s Fine Foods

I realized I haven’t blog about the food that I’ve prepared for my love one on Valentine’s Day. I found out these pics from the archives dated almost a month ago. We’ve always wanted to try the sausages & hams from Mr Ho’s Fine Foods – (not a typo
its actually spelt Foods) since the first time we went there a few months ago. So we went & bought some sausages & hams from the outlet. We’re quite amazed by the friendliness of their waiters & waitress. Such tiny little manners & greetings were priceless. Talking about this, I wasn’t sure if anyone else suspect this but I kinda realize that more & more establishments in Miri regardless of the range of their services, there weren’t as professional as before where customers are their priority. Nowadays, these tauke-s, tauke-nios & even their workers of certain shops have the guts to be rude towards the customers.

Well, that’s it for the unfriendly customer services. Coming back to the food. We had 1 sausage each, slices of pineapple ham & smoked ham from Mr Ho’s. The sausages tasted very nice. Once you poked with forks, all the cheese flows out from it
Yummy! I particularly favours the pineapple ham rather the smoked one. In addition to the food from Mr Ho’s, I prepared some chicken stew marinated with HP sauce, Heinz Low Fat baked beans, dwarf-ted carrot & tomatoes & a bit of vegetable salads with broccoli.
Excapade Sushi, Brunei

Had a short trip to Brunei, Kuala Belait in exact, yesterday evening. We’ve always wanted to try out the pro-claimed best sushi outlet in Brunei some say even better than Nikko Miri and the only reason we’re going there is to experience it for the first time. The actual plan was me driving Val and her cousin & gf but I found out that to enter Brunei we to have green card of the car / car registration card which I left it at home, in order to fill up the information for Custom purposes. I didn’t know know that at first so, my plan driving my own car – scrapped. IJ was kind enough to offer us his ride Mitsubishi GTO (okay so it was 180km/h) to Brunei & back. Although it was a bit cramped for the 2 ladies at the back seat but we all do enjoy the trip.

Alright, so about Escapade. When we reached the place it was already fully occupied with patrons. Lucky for us that Ij had actually made a reservation a day earlier. We’ve never expected it will be so fully patronized. We got out seats as soon as we reach, but for those who didn’t book earlier, they have to queue up for a long time before they got theirs.
Overall, the sushi was quite satisfying, fresh salmon, quality not disappointing. Despite the numbers of customers, the staffs still smiles. The bill totaled up to B$72.50 . Not bad actually for the amount of side dishes & ala-carte that we ordered. Thumbs up!
I’m trying to make this short as I’ve to go out soon.
Baby’s Birthday Bash

Secret Recipe Cheese Cake
Yesterday was my gf’s birthday anniversary. To surprise her and to give her some special treat for this year, I went to town while she was napping & bought& her 12 slices of assorted cheese cake from Secret Recipe, presented to her& in her room. She went head over heels to-the-max! She tasted a single bit of every slice & and she liked it so so & much.

Marriot's Nasi Goreng
And for dinner we dined at Zest,Marriott Miri. She had Nasi Goreng which comes with the tag “Zest’s Specialty”. Frankly speaking, the expectation of the food doesn’t score as high as its price tag. Its just like ordinary local fried rice not even better.

Marriott's Lamb Chop
I had lamb chop. And there’s not much to comment on it. There are rumours that praised astronomically on the quality of buffet at Marriott, saying that it is the best in Miri but I wouldn’t give them a five-star rate just not yet perhaps.
