The remarkable experience from my first appearance in Curtin’s Prom Nite is that this year’s prom nite (2008) was organized precisely grand and perfectly match it’s theme. “Night of Elegant”. The food was great, and I had a pleasant evening and a splendour night.

Silver Mask of Hector Barbossa.

Legends speak:

Shall one day, the Fairy of the Forest chant an europhic melody from the
secret chamber hidden in a sacred tree. Derived will be the King, resurrected
from his death, cursed death, shall his myrmidon vindicate the
revivicafication of their King, once again He overwhelm the dark side and take
His queen to the throne….

And next update.. Coming up..

This year’s Masquerade Nite cum Prom Nite 2008 was held in Eastwood Valley Golf & Country Club, Miri. The venue was an high end club in the middle of a enourmous country club. Upon arriving at the club, groups of masked ladies and gentlemen were seen in their formal and elegant atires.

The theme of recent prom was “Night of Elegance”. Each tickets were priced at Rm50 inclusive of dinner and a complimentary cocktail or wine with your choice.

As the clock hits 6p.m the sun began to set and the exterior lightings of the club triggered the asthetic atmosphere, setting unforgettable scenery to commemorate the Masquerade Nite.

Complimentary cocktail. It was sweet with a bit of orange and cherry flavour.

Everyone was waiting at the exterior bistro before the commencement of the dinner at the Grand Ball.

Three hot & cold prosperity plate. [Scallop, fried spring rolls, and jelly fish.]

Next was Braised fish lips with shark fin soup.

However, I missed the chance to photograph it since I went to the washroom .

Pineapple Fried Rice.

“Pe Pa” Sauce Fried Chicken

Mongolian Style Fried Lamb.

Seasonal fish steamed with Tom Yam sauce..

The Masquerade Nite was a spectacular event. It was organized perfectly, the food was “finger linkin good” and the performances was awesome.

I’ll have a full review later on after sorting up the photos and videos for the next post.

Yesterday, Leo Club of Curtin University had a reunion at Nikko Japanese Restaurant for an appreciation dinner dedicated to the committee members of Leo Club Orientation Day 2008 and Environmental Project 2008 as a recognition to their efforts and commitments in the projects.

Nikko Japanese Restaurant is one of the best outlet in Miri that serves Japanese Cruisine. It had a nice interior eluded with nice lighting ambient. Nikko is a suitable spot to impress your date with a euphoric dinner and an excellent spot for family gathering.

The service was quite good. We had waitress filling our cups every now and then. which continues to the end of the dinner.

Everyone us (Lions and Leos) had a thrilling and tremendous dinner.

We had our Past District Governor from Labuan with us as our special guest for tonight’s dinner.

..posting with the chef.

Jie Ning attempting to slice one of us for her sushi. :P

Proficient committee members that shaped every possiblity to stive for the success of Orientation Day 2008.

Daph and Jin Yi join in for the photoshot.

Overall, we had estatic and joyful dinner. The management of Nikko will be laughing their way to bed tonight having to know that they are cashing in a huge sum as we (30 people) spent around Rm2100.00++ for this meal. Well, as the saying goes “work hard and play hard” in our case, its work hard, eat hard.
